Berks Branch TOMCC Nacelle Report – August 2020
I’ve got to admit it’s getting better. We can ride our bikes now, meet up outside in small groups and at the time of writing, it’s been announced that pubs will re-open soon.
The online version of our annual show for historic bikes (pre 1980), The Old Motorcycle Gathering, closed for entries in June on the day the real show would have been held. We had 53 bikes entered on the dedicated website we built. The quality of the entries was really high with two bikes more than a hundred years old and still running and several bikes from the 30’s and 40’s. As usual, all marques were allowed, with Best in Show going to Paul’s 1969 Royal Enfield Interceptor, Best British going to Jim’s BSA B25SS, Best Foreign going to Dave’s 1973 Honda CB750 and Best Triumph going to Greg’s 1964 Tiger Cub. Congratulations to all the winners!!! Why not have a look yourself by going to our branch website and clicking on the banner for The Old Motorcycle Gathering on the front page.
Members have been out riding their bikes together and enjoying the weather. There was a ride to the South Coast early in the month, a ride to Bourton on the Water in the Cotswolds and to The Ridgeway near Wantage.
We’re looking forward to our weekly club nights starting again. In the meantime, we’ve been continuing our Thursday evening sessions using Zoom. If you want details email Collin at tomccberksruns@btinternet.com.
Keep on rolling!
