Once a year MAG have a stand in the town centre as a come and meet us, this year it was manned by members of Reading MAG, Royal Berkshire Triumph Owners Motor Cycle Club, Thames Valley Advanced Motorcycle Group & a motorcyclist from the blood runners, during the day about 20, 6, 12 & 1 of their members attending and working during the day. One of the purposes is meeting the public to let them meet the people that ride bikes and realise that they are just the same as themselves.
As you can see from the press cutting our very own Club Rep attended the event not only recently but has supported the event where possible from 1994.
Well done Dave.
Please can you put on the events list and the website that there will be a curry night at the branch meeting on Thursday 30th April .
A choice of curries will be on the menu so get your orders in early from next Thursday onwards
We note that you have previously submitted a vehicle or other significant item for display in the Tadley Treacle Fair. We do hope that you are wanting to do the same again this year. The main event is on Sunday the 31st May at Saunders Field, Tadley (the normal venue).
I attach an entry form for your consideration in both PDF and Word formats. If you believe you will attend, please fill it in and either return it to me using the details at the bottom, or bring it along on the day. Once again we are hoping to stage an arena parade with times to be confirmed. We are also hoping to hold the procession from Burnham Copse school that has proved so popular with the local community in the last couple of years. This is planned to leave Burnham Copse at approximately 12:45 to arrive at the field at 13:00 in time for the Mayor of Basingstoke to open the fair.
Last year, we held a ‘Picnic Proms’ on the Saturday of the Treacle Fair weekend. We are looking to hold events on the Saturday evening again this year, though this will be of a different format. Please keep in touch with our website - www.loddonvalleylions.org - for information on these, and do help us to celebrate this local community event.
If you have any questions, please do feel free to get in touch.
