Berks Branch TOMCC Nacelle Report – Dec 2020
You’ve got to ride to live, live to ride!! Feel the flames burn inside!! So we’re still riding our bikes and hope to continue doing so despite the weather and the ever changing COVID-19 restrictions.
We’ve had two Sundays this month with dry, mild weather and we took full advantage of both of them. Our first ride was to the legendary Thruxton race track. The café there was open so we had hot drinks and a bite to eat. Then we watched part of a bicycle race that was taking place. The bikes were the type you pedal, so the lap times were a bit slow.
Our second Sunday ride was to Popham Airfield. The café had outdoor picnic tables next to the control tower, so we could see the magnificent men in their flying machines as we ate bacon rolls. Videos of both rides are on our YouTube channel “TOMCC Berkshire Runs”, so why not have a look?
We also had several mid-week rides and we did plan some other Sunday rides, but wet weather stopped them. All rides are arranged through our WhatsApp and Facebook Groups. If you want to join them, please send us an email.
Some of the activities that we would normally do this time of year like our quiz night and Christmas party won’t be taking place, but we are still meeting in small social distanced groups every Thursday night at our normal venue, which has COVID-19 procedures place.
Keep on rolling!
