Berks Branch TOMCC Nacelle Report –  July 2020

Who’s zoomin’ who? Lots of us are!!!  We’ve been having weekly Zoom sessions every Thursday instead of our normal club night. All you need to join is a smartphone, tablet or PC. Armed with a pint of beer, we just connect in and have a chat like we would at the bar normally. We have two 40 minute sessions, starting at 8pm, so at 8.40 we break, get our ourselves another beer and come back for the second session at 9pm, ending at 9.40. Some people stay for both sessions, some just for one and some just drop in for 10 minutes.

There were more questions than answers when Boris made his Sunday night announcement of the new rules, but we soon had clarification from the TOMCC. We could ride our bikes again!! We could even go with one other person, as long as we stayed 2 metres apart when we stopped. So some members have been taking advantage of that this month. We can’t stop at cafés, but there’s nothing to stop two people taking their own drinks, riding together and stopping at a car park somewhere for a refreshment break. We just need to remember to keep one bike length between us when we stop. It’s convenient that the government decided to choose the length of a typical motorbike as the rule for social distancing.

Remember, any Branch member can join our Whatsapp or Facebook Groups by emailing  Collin on tomccberksruns@btinternet.com.

Time to start riding again!!!
