Berks Branch TOMCC Nacelle Report – November 2019
It was seventy years ago this year!! When TOMCC was founded here!! Triumph motorbikes are still in style!! And they’re guaranteed to raise a smile!! To celebrate this platinum anniversary, a group of thirteen Branch members met up on a Sunday for a seventy mile ride to commemorate the start of our club all those years ago. They rode on a great mix of roads through three counties with a lunch stop at the Crofton Beam Engine museum. After lunch, the group had a quick look around the museum, posed by the canal, examined the engines and admired a collection of the biggest spanners you are ever likely to see. There was a varied collection of Triumph bikes on the ride from the classic Meriden era through three decades of Hinkleys to this year’s model. Thanks to Collin Fox, our run leader who organised the ride and Mick, Derick, Marc, Don, Jim, James, David, Ian, Spencer, Mike, Lauraine and Derek who went on it.
Some members from our Branch joined a mid-week ride with the local VMCC group, meeting up and riding with them to a pub with a micro-brewery in Cheriton. Thanks to Bill Barnes for inviting the branch on the ride.
Several members went to the Bristol Branch’s Concord Rally for the weekend and another member joined the annual Ace Café Re-Union run to Brighton.
We’d like to give a warm welcome to new Branch members: Andrew Packham, Andrew Spring and Peter Hartley.
Keep on rolling!
