Berks Branch TOMCC Nacelle Report – November 2020
Motorbiking, motorcycling!! Gotta go motorbike riding!!
The COVID-19 rules keep changing like we’re playing a game of ‘Simon Says’, but
so far, we can still ride our bikes together, and we’re taking full advantage of that
while we can. We’re following ‘The Joy of Six’ rules, keeping to groups of six or less
at the meet points at the beginning and middle of rides. We managed to have five
Sunday ride-outs this month to a variety of different destinations. We enjoyed drinks
in a marquee at the Departure Lounge Cafe near Alton, sat at elegant picnic tables
on the lawn at Longstock Farm on the Leckford estate, owned by Waitrose, sampled
ice creams at the Rowdey Cow dairy farmshop near Devizes, saw lots of bikes at
Ryka’s Café at Box Hill near Dorking and took in the rural charms of the Court Hill
Centre on the Ridgeway near Wantage.
Some members have bought new bikes this month so they’re moving on the queen’s
highway looking like streaks of lightning. James got himself a new Tiger Sport 1050
and Andy turned up on a new black Bonneville T120.
We are holding our club nights each week at the BCSA, but with stricter COVID-19
procedures, with groups of less than six each sitting at well-spaced tables with no
mingling between groups. With only table service allowed now, we order drinks by
mobile phone and they are brought to the table, which beats queuing up at the bar.
Keep on rolling!
