Berks Branch TOMCC Nacelle Report – September 2019
Good Golly Miss Molly!!! It’s been a busy month.
The main event was our Classic and Custom Bike Show. This kicked off on Friday evening with a lively skittles game while a rock and roll band played in the next bar. This was followed by the bike show on Saturday. With a bar and café, coffee and cake stalls and an ice cream van, there were plenty of refreshments. We also had autojumble stalls, a raffle and a PA system playing rock music. But the main attraction was the bikes, and we had a great selection for people to look at: “Best in Show” winner was Keith’s 1967 650cc BSA TT Hornet; “Best Classic Triumph” winner was Barry’s 1961 650cc Triumph Bonneville T120R and “Best Hinkley Triumph” winner was Dave’s 1995 900cc Speed Triple. The “Best Club Turnout” prize for visiting clubs was won by the West Middlesex TOMCC who had eight members at the show. The prize for the Longest Distance ridden to the show went to Damion, who rode 207 miles from Runcorn. Congratulations to the winners.
Earlier in the month our branch stand flew the flag at Wycombe Mag Chinnor Bike Dayz.
Members have been out on the road again a lot this month, with rides arranged through our Facebook group. A group of seven rode up for Jack’s Hill’s Ton-Up Sunday, a group rode out to the AV8 Café at the Cotswold Airport and we had a mid-week ride to Chichester.
Keep on rolling!
