The Gaffer's Gallop Re-Run 2013.

The famous Gaffer's Gallop was planned to be re-run in October 2013 to celebrate the original run completed by Mr.Turner and his crew some 60 years ago to help launch the mighty Terrier range by Triumph at that time.
The run was organised by the Cub Mag but sadly none of their bikes actually made the trip in fact one broke down at the start and in total only completed approximately 100 miles or so of the actual run. Brett Baxter organised the first section from Roche to Lands End which Mike Estall also attended and rode.
In the end the run was completed by four bikes they were:-
Mike Spencer from Hereford on a Tiger Cub that he has owned for the last ten years, no break downs what a star. He rode from Hereford to Wadebridge on the day of the Gallop even before the start adding another 232 Miles and the bike returned over 100mpg over the whole trip.
Guy Labbe on a Terrier, he came all the way from Belgium to take part.
Ian Farrow from Northampton on a Terrier he restored himself and he only passed his test the Friday before the start.
Steve Cooper from Hayling Island on the Mike Estall 125cc Terrier prepared by Paul Ralph and Bob Gibbs. This bike had to have the complete wiring loom removed prior to the run due to its poor condition and was fitted with a Boyer power box and Ignition and all solid state up to date battery and led lighting.

Derek Mount from Greystones and Steve Watts drove the support vehicle and Greystones also supplied parts free of charge if required during the run to help the riders. Robert Connell drove the breakdown car and trailer when required.
