August 24"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Below is the report published in the August 2024 issue of Nacelle, which covered Branch activities in June  202<\/em>4<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By mid-June the sun was appearing more often, which bode well for our Old Motorcycle Gathering. \u00a0On the day rain clouds burst over us as we set up, but by late morning the sun broke through and the bikes arrived in droves.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" src=\"https:\/\/www.berkshiretomcc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/The-Bikes-Start-to-Arrive-700.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3723\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.berkshiretomcc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/The-Bikes-Start-to-Arrive-700.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.berkshiretomcc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/The-Bikes-Start-to-Arrive-700-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The bikes start to arrive<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I was judging \u201cBest Foreign\u201d, but by far and away the most difficult category to judge was \u201cBest Triumph\u201d.\u00a0 Poor Bob C had a tough time deciding, but I think he made the right choice and Bruce Lee\u2019s 1972 TR6C took the honours.\u00a0\u00a0 Digger was on \u201cBest British\u201d and although there was a mint HRD 1000, he picked Peter Broom\u2019s 1972 Export BSA Rocket 3, 5-speed.\u00a0\u00a0 I plumped for a 1975 Kawasaki 900 ZIB, Steve Emery\u2019s pride and joy.\u00a0 So, it came down to the wire with arguments over B-I-S between us three judges.\u00a0 But showing no prejudice or favouritism, it went 2 to 1, the HRD just missing out again and Roy Keegan\u2019s 1975 Suzuki RE5 stole top honours.\u00a0 I don\u2019t think I\u2019d ever seen one running in all my time and this one ran real sweet.\u00a0 Well done to all who entered and helped make a great show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"700\" height=\"525\" src=\"https:\/\/www.berkshiretomcc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/The-Award-Winners-700.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3724\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.berkshiretomcc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/The-Award-Winners-700.jpg 700w, https:\/\/www.berkshiretomcc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/07\/The-Award-Winners-700-300x225.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">The award winners<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A Monday evening branch ride-out to Cassington saw us lost in a sea of all makes of motorcycles;
