Ride to TJ’s – Oct 24

Our bikes lined up in TJ’s car park

On a dry, sunny and mild Sunday in late October, twelve of us met up to ride to TJ’s Cafe near South Marston. A flat battery slightly delayed the start, but luckily one member on the ride had a set of jump leads, so the bike was quickly started by a couple of people, with the rest offering advice and support.

Here are some photos of the event.

Ride to Choppers Cafe – Oct 24

Meeting up before setting off on the ride

Dry weather attracted a good turnout of a dozen bikes for a ride to Choppers Cafe. We met some more of our members at the cafe when we arrived. This is great biker cafe that unfortunately closes on Sundays from November until next March, so it will be sometime before we can come again for a Sunday ride out. We had an enjoyable ride there and enjoyed the food, company and bikes at the destination before riding back home. See below for some photos.

Ride to Rawles Open Day – Oct 24

We went on a ride to Rawles Open Day. Rawles are a classic car restorer who specialise in Austin Healeys. It’s something we’ve done for the last couple of years and its always a fascinating visit, both to see the fabulous finished restorations on display and also go around their workshop and see how they go through the process of restoration. See some photos below of our visit.

Bike Meet Photos – Sept 24

We had dry sunny weather for our Lunchtime Bike meet on the 28 September. We had an interesting collection of about 80 bikes on show and with the bar open and a good selection of hot food available it was a fun afternoon. A great way to round off the bike show season. Here are some photos of the event.

Or check out this video of the day below. Note the title photo which celebrates 75 years of the TOMCC.

Ride to Bucklebury – Sept 24

The poor weather forecast meant that there were only 4 of us meeting up for a short run to Bucklebury Farm on a Sunday morning. There was no rain on the way there, although the roads were dampo The car park is just grass and with all the rain it was very muddy. But we managed to park up without dropping our bikes. The food in the cafe was excellent. Here are some photos of the event.

Ride to Avebury – Sept 24

A small group of us had a Sunday ride out to the Avebury Stone circle and had some refreshments at the Unhenged Cafe in the Clubhouse of Avebury Cricket Club. It was a sunny day and our runs leader chose a route round some twisty country lanes for a fun ride of about an hour and half. We sat out in a marque next to Clubhouse eating and drinking with cricket playing in the background. A great way to spend a Sunday morning. Then we rode home. Here are some photos of the day.

Swallowfield Show 2024 – Pictures

Historic Bikes on our stand at Swallowfield

We had a great August Bank holiday weekend at the Swallowfield Show. We had our Branch stand there with around 15 bikes on both Sunday and Monday and led the Classical Vehicle parade in the arena on both days. A video with some pictures of our time there is shown below.

Here are some more pictures of the event below.

Ride to Butts Farm – Aug 2024

We had fun ride out to a new destination. It had parking for the bikes, good food and drink and a pleasant outside eating area to relax in. We had a good ride there and back as well. Good ride, good company and a nice venue for refreshments before heading for home.
