The day after some of the worst stormy weather this year, there was a one day pause in the rain and the sun came out. The winds were still blowing at 40-50 mph, but we went out on a ride anyhow. The wind made for some interesting riding and there were frequent hazards from branches and other debris that had fallen across the country road. But we all arrived safely at our destination, the AV8 Cafe at Cotswold Airport. The airport doubles as a an aeroplane salvage yard, where retired airliners go to be diassembled and recycles. That results in some strange sights. There is a complete Boeing 747 in the car-park and aircraft engines and other aircraft parts around. Some of been used to provide seating in the cafe.
