Nacelle Report – February 23

Below is the report published in the February 2023 issue of Nacelle, which covered Branch activities in December 2022

So that was Christmas and what have we done? Another year over and a new one just begun. 2022 was the first full year of activities since the pandemic and we made the most of it. We had around 40 ride-outs, held our Old Motorcycle Gathering show, had two other bike meets and our Branch stand was at half a dozen other events. We met every single Thursday and we hosted the National AGM. Altogether, there were around 100 opportunities to meet up with other Branch members during the year.

At the beginning of December, we joined thousands of other local bikers for the Reading Toy Run in aid of Dr Barnardo’s children’s charity, with some members acting as marshalls, while others took toys on the ride.

We had a good turnout for our branch night before Christmas. Partners were invited, we had a free buffet, Christmas music and a raffle with prize giving. A merry time was had by all.

The weather was either freezing cold or very wet for most of December, but we did manage to squeeze in one last ride just before Christmas to Milbury’s at Beauworth where we had a cracking lunch in front of an open fire before riding home.

We have lots of activities planned for 2023 including a talk from Norman Hyde on the 23 March called “Triumph and Me”. See our website for details of all our events including our Branch AGM on the 16th February.

Keep on rolling!
